Payformance understands the responsibility to adhere to industry standards regarding Protected Health Information (PHI). We take this responsibility seriously, working to ensure that our systems and services are compliant, specifically with regard to HIPAA 835 EFT and HIPAA 835 ERA transactions.

• HIPAA - PaySpan Health is compliant with the HIPAA Privacy and Security Standards for the secure transmission, use, and management of protected health information. PaySpan Health is compliant with both the ERA and EFT components of the mandated ANSI 835 transaction set.
• SAS 70 - Payformance has been issued a SAS 70 Type II Report since October 31, 2004. The AICPA Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 "Reports on the Processing of Transactions by Service Organizations" provides Payformance customers and their independent auditors information which may assist them in evaluating the internal controls of the PaySpan Services.
